Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026. Version v01.
This page explains what information theroutina.com and its forms collect, why, who receives it, and what your rights are. We've tried to keep it plain.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is Shimi Dvir, who operates under the name academAI and is based in Israel. For any privacy question or request, contact us at shimi@academai.ai.
What we collect
- The email address you enter in the newsletter form.
- Your consent: that you ticked the box, the exact wording you agreed to (by version number) and when.
- Where you came from: the page you signed up on and the parameters of the link that brought you there, for example a campaign source or a keyword from a reel. These don't include your name or other identifying details.
- Technical information sent with the form: your IP address, your browser type, and the result of an automated anti-spam check.
- Events on the list: confirming your sign-up, unsubscribing, and emails that couldn't be delivered.
- Clicks on our short links, meaning addresses that start with /r/ (see "Click measurement" below).
We don't ask for your name, phone number or any other details, and we don't collect sensitive data.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To send you the newsletter: guides, updates and offers for our workshops, talks, courses and digital products. This is marketing email, and we send it only if you ticked the consent box. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- To keep a record of your consent and of your unsubscribe, so we can show that we only email people who agreed. This is required by law (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To prevent spam and abuse of the form, which keeps the list and the site working (our legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To understand, only in aggregate, which content and channels bring readers.
Do you have to give us this information?
No. Without an email address we can't send you the newsletter, but every guide on this site is open to read without signing up.
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge: with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, or by writing to us. Withdrawing doesn't affect what we did with your consent before you withdrew it.
Who receives your data
We don't sell or rent your data. We share it only with the service providers that run the site and our emails for us, only for that purpose, and under their data processing terms:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): hosting the site, receiving the form, spam protection (Turnstile), storing the list, and measuring clicks on our short links.
- Amazon Web Services, Inc. (Amazon SES) (United States): sending our emails, once email sending starts.
We may also disclose data where the law requires us to.
International transfers
We are based in Israel, which the European Commission recognizes as providing an adequate level of data protection. Our service providers store and process data on servers outside Israel and outside the European Union, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the safeguards in the providers' data processing terms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Click measurement
Our short links, for example in a social media bio or in a direct message, go through an address that starts with /r/. When you click one, we record which link was clicked, when, and the source parameters, and only then send you on to the destination. We use this to learn which content works, not to build a personal profile. Links in our emails may include an identifier so we know the link was opened. The site uses no third-party analytics.
Cookies
The site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare's spam check (Turnstile) may use strictly necessary technical means to tell people from bots.
How long we keep your data
For as long as you're on the list. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your address and the date you unsubscribed, so that we never email you marketing again, plus the record of your consent and of your unsubscribe for as long as we need them to prove both.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, and in any case under Israeli law, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong, or delete it.
- Restrict how we use it, or object to a use.
- Send you your data in a portable format.
- Stop sending you marketing emails, at any time.
To make a request, contact us at shimi@academai.ai. We'll answer within 30 days at the latest. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the authority where you live, and in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority.
Israeli law
Because we operate from Israel, Israeli law applies to us as well, including the Protection of Privacy Law and the rules on advertising messages in the Communications Law. Every marketing email we send says who it comes from, explains how to refuse further emails, and includes a working unsubscribe link.
Security
We protect the data with reasonable measures: access only for authorized people, and encrypted transfer (HTTPS). No system is completely immune. The list is kept in a Cloudflare database that is encrypted at rest, and access keys are not stored in the site's code.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
